JGG is a family office rooted in a philosophy of being of service to others. Our goal is to support projects with global, scalable and game-changing visions. Founded in 2004 by Lou Reese and Mei Mei Hu, the firm has built companies and completed transactions valued at more than $5 billion in real estate, energy and biotech. Our metric of success goes beyond pure financial. We value elimination of suffering, expansion of consciousness, and generation of joy.

Managing Directors

Lou Reese and Mei Mei Hu founded JGG with a mission to drive global impact. Together, they have been Chairman, Partner, Director, controlling shareholder and/or member of executive committee of numerous companies including Shanghai ShenLian Biomedical Corporation (688098.SS), UBI Pharma (OTCTW:6562) and Vaxxinity (NASDAQ:VAXX). Their healthcare portfolio, recognized in leading peer-reviewed Nature Medicine, New England Journal of Medicine and The Lancet journals, commercializes hundreds of millions of vaccine doses annually, immunizes 25% of the world’s swine livestock, and manages over 2 million square feet of facilities. They are tackling the prevention of Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s and other chronic diseases through their Active Immunotherapy Medicine (AIM) platform, as well as HIV, food allergies, and issues of national food security.

In other areas, Lou helped pioneer the LEED certification criteria developing the first LEED multi-family project in the US, and introduced the Green Demolition Accord in Oshkosh, diverting 95% of demolition waste from landfills. He also helped create Hawaii’s first solar fund and launched a top solar integrator, slashing local energy costs by over 10x. Together, they started a closed-loop farm based on biodynamic and permaculture principles, cultivating one of the largest collections of bananas and taro. Today, they continue to spend several months every year with their family in a teepee or off-the-grid in the jungle.

Lou worked extremely briefly as an investment banker at JP Morgan and holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and attended Columbia Business School. Mei Mei previously worked at McKinsey & Co and Cravath, Swaine and Moore. She studied Economics at the University of Pennsylvania and London School of Economics, and holds a JD from Harvard Law School.
